Growing up, a back injury had me bouncing in, out, and around the healthcare system, which sparked my interest in healthcare. This eventually led to me pursuing biomedical engineering in college.
When my brother himself needed back surgery later on, it felt personal, so I channeled my energy into starting my first company, which developed spinal devices.
I've always told people, I'm not an entrepreneur, I'm an engineer who found a way to execute on a vision for better healthcare products. I'd say that still holds true today.
Beyond healthcare, I've always been drawn to figuring out how things work. I grew up playing with Legos like most engineers, but soon, I was taking apart and fixing everything from phones to appliances. My latest project was restoring a 1974 MGB - a fun challenge.
I live by three guiding principles: the 5Ps - Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance, seizing opportunities as they come, and understanding life as a game of balancing asymmetric risks.
